Villages We Serve(Updated July 2013)
ChipayikaChipayika is the most northern of our sponsored villages in the Northern region of Malawi. It has 159 gogos registered in their Gogo Grandmothers group including some grandfathers.
They have 2 CBCCs (Community Based Childcare Centers) for preschoolers with 58 and 54 children respectively.
They need a CBCC building and a clinic with medicines in this village.
Chiyambi Chiyambi is in the Zomba district and has 128 gogos in their Gogo Grandmothers' group. They have a CBCC for 128 preschoolers, 21 boys and 32 girls in 2013 and 6 caregivers and 2 cooks.
Kachere Kachere is in the Zomba district and is sponsored by SAFE UK and they have emphasized scholarships for orphaned children.
Kachindamoto Kachindamoto is in the Central region of Malawi. It has 3 large Gogo groups. (103. 90, and 116)
They have recently begun 3 CBCC's (Community Based Childcare Centers) 1 meets in a resource center and 2 meet outside. 185, 187 and 206 and the number children registered for the program.
They also have a child-headed household that is sponsored.

Kondanani Kondanani is in the Zomba district and has 138 gogos in their Gogo Grandmothers group and some are grandfathers. A CBCC preschool and latrines were built in 2012. There are 95 preschoolers. 5 caregivers and 2 cooks. They also have a community garden for the gogos.

Luzi Luzi is in the Northern region of Malawi. It has 115 gogo grandmothers in their Gogo Grandmothers group and 55 preschoolers in their CBCC. (community based childcare center) they have 4 caregivers and 2 cooks for the children.
Makungula Makungula was the first village SAFE assisted and sponsored. They have 85 gogos in their Gogo Grandmothers group and 64 boys and 59 girls in the preschool. 123 total. Makungula has a building and playground equipment. They need a new covered outdoor cooking area.

MposaMopsa is near a lake in the Lake Chilwa district of Malawi. They are especially vulnerable to drought and the lake drying up. Mposa is one of our newest village projects and sponsored by a Gogo group in Australia.
Mposa has 3 Gogo groups, with 36, 56, and 70 gogos respectively. They also have 3 CBCCs.(Community Based Childcare Centers) With 91, 33 and 58 preschool children registered. They each have 4 caregivers and 2 cooks.
Mwaiwandigwela Mwaiwandigwela is in the Zomba district and has 112 gogos in their Gogo Grandmothers group. They have 45 boys and 52 girls (97 total) who are registered in their CBCC (Community Based childcare Center) They have 5 caregivers and 2 cooks for the children. They meet in a small building.
Simiyoni Simiyoni has 92 gogos in their Gogo Grandmothers group.They have 46 boys and 30 girls (76 total) in their CBCC. (Community Based Childcare Center) There are 5 caregivers for the children and 2 cooks.They meet in the community building SAFE/Gogo Grandmothers built in 2010. The children also have a small playground.
Tadziwana Tadziwana is one of the Kawiya area villages in the Zomba district. It has 135 gogos in their Gogo Group. There are 30 boys and 35 girls in the CBCC (Community Based Childcare Center) with 4 preschool caregivers and 2 cooks.They meet in a new building built by SAFE/Gogo Grandmothers in 2013. An outdoor kitchen and latrines were also built.

Tikondani

Thowolo
Tikondani is one of the Kawiya villages in the Zomba district. It has 80 gogos in their Gogo Grandmothers group. They have 27 boys and 33 girls (60 total) in their CBCC (Community Based Childcare Center). They meet in an older community building. They have 4 caregivers for the preschool children and 2 cooks.

Thowolo in in the Northern region of Malawi. They have 149 gogos in their Gogo Grandmothers group and two CBCCs (Comunnity Based Childcare Centers). They need a building for the children. There are 30 and 52 children in the two centers with 2 caregivers and 2 cooks in each one.
