A wonderful workshop was held for three days, August 4-6, 2010, to train caregivers at the CBCCs (preschools) in our sponsored villages, in the Zomba district. It's purpose was to train the participants to teach the life and character of Christ to preschoolers using the Kids Around The World flannel-graph materials.
This is a brief overview of the work in the sponsored villages in the Southern Region around Zomba. Pictures will be coming soon.
Frankie, who is the grandfather in our DVD, who was caring for four orphan children has died. This is Irene's letter about his death and funeral.
A Proclaimer is a digital player that plays the New Testament in drama form and can be used even without electricity. Irene writes a brief report on some of the results of placing these in different places in the Zomba area.
Blankets were just distributed to 461 gogos in the Zomba area and over 300 more will be given out in the North the week on July 12, 2010.
The Seeds of Soy and Joy project targets three of our villages this year to help improve nutrition and food security among the poorest of the poor in these villages. It is a pilot program, planned to be expanded to more villages next year if successful.
The building that will be used for preschoolers who are orphans and vulnerable children and for gogo meetings is finally finished.
God has provided a double cab Toyota truck with a canopy for our staff in Malawi!
Irene shares about help being given to some child-headed households and the opportunity to speak at a student event.
