Guests Coming and We are Across the Big Pond! January 19, 2012 • By By Charlotte Day I love serving the guests who come thousands of miles to see the work in villages and schools. This time Dick and I will not be there when the couple from Louisiana comes. They will mostly be up in the central region seeing and filming in their churches sponsored villages in Kachindamoto. But, they will be staying a few days in our home while they visit schools and villages in Zomba. To get the house ready I have to think about what might not be there, mainly because we were robbed during the time we have been gone. I am trying from afar to prepare for them and sending messages like, "PLEASE be SURE Windeson has the house cleaned, living areas in order. toilet tissue and light bulbs in. Also, it would be good for you to buy some food yo begin with...breakfast (eggs, bread, butter, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, fresh fruit) Please put together a welcome basket of water, biscuits, sm. Tambala peanut butter, Leopard matches, sm. Nali (typical Malawian things) and with a welcome note and scripture. Also, make sure Windeson has the rat population down! Have him boil water for them....and also, set up the khondi (porch) nicely and serve them meals out there if it is nice." Sometimes it is hard to be a hostess in your own home from afar!
