Historic rains have come to Malawi in January 2015. We are in the process of assessing the damage in our sponsored villages to the gogos and orphans homes and maize gardens.

Because of the drought this year many gogo families had run out of food. Donations were made by many people in the U.S. and twice we were able to get maize from ADMARK to assist over 1,320 gogos and their families.
A few months ago the little children in Tadziwana village only had a little stick building with a grass roof to meet in for the Community Based Child Care Center, but now they have a beautiful new preschool and meeting place for the gogos.

We were in need of a new SAFE staff member in Malawi after Irene died, and we saw God provide Tiffany Banda.
Irene was the first SAFE hired staff member, led to the Lord by Dick Day. She was HIV positive and shared her love for the Lord with thousands of students through the Why Wait? program over the years. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed!
SAFE staff were invited to one of our sponsored villages to give thanks for the 2012 harvest in their village.
Katie, her husband Tim and a media guy from south Africa visited their village area Kachindamoto in February 2012. They conducted training and assessments with our staff for beginning the Gogo Grandmother and Sukulu work there being sponsored by Our Savior's Church in Louisiana.
